Alumni Dance Collective & Empathy FX: Uptown Recital

Together with Empathy FX International, Alumni Dance Collective is hosting our first performance event!Â
Uptown Recital will feature a number of contemporary and urban dance small group, duet, and solo performances from dancers around the Bay Area.Â
The event will be held on September 24th at The Uptown Nightclub in Oakland (close to 19th Street BART station) from 5-8:30pm and is 21+.
Tickets $15 pre sale and $20 at the door. 50% of the proceeds will go to Empathy FX. Buy your tickets using the ticket link or at the door.Â

Alumni Dance Collective:
Founded in June 2014 by Claire Lee, the mission of Alumni Dance Collective is to create a space for contemporary, hip hop, & urban choreography dancers to train, connect, and perform outside of their full-time jobs in the SF Bay Area. The goal of this event is to support this mission by creating performance opportunities for individual dancers, projects, and smaller groups. In addition to this event Alumni has hosted a number of workshops for Bay Area dancers and have performed a variety of pieces in various shows.Â
Empathy FX International is an international 501c3 organization founded in 2009 by Rosemary Hua and Nana Aggrey-Fynn. Empathy FX is a true global partnership, from its foundational roots to its management philosophy. In the past 7 years, Empathy has built 5 schools which serve over 900 primary school students in Ghana. Our volunteers continue to open free clinics and treat over 100 malaria patients, free of charge, every year. In the past 3 years, we have given full-tuition university scholarships for our student, Stephen Abbey, to study industrial engineering. We believe that empathy affects people everywhere, everyday, and so can you. http://www.empathyfx.org
